Choosing zirconia is a three-way balance: strength, translucency, and indication. Push one to the max and you sacrifice another.
The grade map
| Grade | Strength | Use |
|---|---|---|
| HT-Plus | up to 1350 MPa | Posterior bridge |
| ST | ~1100 MPa | Anterior + posterior |
| UT | ~700 MPa | Anterior single crown |
| 3D-Pro-ML | gradient | Monolithic, lifelike |
Decision rule
- Long span / high load → HT-Plus.
- Anterior aesthetics, single unit → UT or multilayer.
- Want minimal staining → 6-layer multilayer.

The grade ladder
| Grade | Strength | Translucency | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| HT | 1350 MPa | Low | Posteriors |
| ST | 1100 MPa | Mid | Anterior |
| UT (multilayer) | 700 MPa | High | Veneers |
Selection flow
- Molar, monolithic? HT.
- Anterior, need shade blend? ST or UT multilayer.
- Implant bridge? HT for the span.
