Setting up a digital lab is not "buy a mill." The order of purchases decides whether you are productive in a month or stuck in a corner.

- Scanner first: it feeds every downstream machine and pays back fastest.
- Mill or printer second: match to your highest-volume item.
- Furnace third: only if you sinter in-house.
- Design seat: a workstation + CAD licence, often overlooked.
Space and air
Plan 2 m² per major machine, 5 °C-stable room, and a dedicated extraction for milling/printing. Dust and fumes in one room cross-contaminate.
Build the chain from our scanners, printers, and furnaces.
Room and power plan
- Give the mill its own 16 A circuit; a shared line browns out the spindle.
- Place the printer away from the mill's dust; particles fog the screen.
- Vent the sintering area; furnaces shed odour at 1500 °C.
